چکیده
Abstract Nozzles are widely used to control the rate of flow, speed, direction, mass, shape and pressure stream in connection with many different engineering applications. This paper presents performance predicted by a computational fluid dynamic (CFD) model, which 3D models that utilize parametric analysis, realizable k-epsilon turbulence experimental measurement for jet. Jet flows ejected from three slot nozzles: round-shaped nozzle, rectangular-shaped nozzle 2D-contoured nozzle. In this numerical study, velocities free jets have been axial distances exit range $0.2\le z/B\le 12$ when center velocity at exit. CFD simulation results compared literature. These consistent existing experiments.

Validation of Cfd for Containment Jet Flows including Condensation
The advanced validation of a CFD code for containment applications requires the investigation of water steam in the different flow types like jets or buoyant plumes. This paper addresses therefore the simulation of two “HYJET” experiments from the former Battelle Model Containment by CFX. These experiments involve jet releases into the multi-compartment geometry of the test facility accompanied...
متن کاملImpact of rotating and fixed nozzles on vortex breakdown in compressible swirling jet flows
Vortex breakdown of swirling, round jet flows is investigated in the compressible, subsonic regime by means of Direct Numerical Simulation (DNS). This is achieved by solving the compressible Navier–Stokes equations on a cylindrical grid using high-order spatial and temporal discretization schemes. The Reynolds number is Re = ρ c w ◦ c R ◦/μ◦c = 5000 and the flow is moderately compressible with ...
متن کاملCFD analysis of flow in an open-jet aeroacoustic experiment
When considering the sound emitted by a rotating machine such as an engine cooling fan, an airplane turbofan, or an air-conditioning unit, one major contributor to the overall noise is the blade trailing edge noise. It comes from the conversion of local flow perturbations at this geometric discontinuity into acoustic waves propagating in space. Depending on the flow Reynolds number (based on th...
